Who or what is Sex Geek and why it's worth a visit

Sex Geek

Searching the internet for sex tips or toy reviews often leads to hell: flashing banners, poorly translated texts, and products that smell like a chemical accident.
One person has had enough: Thomas Stein, co-founder and editor-in-chief of Sex-Geek.com .

Together with his partner Lisa (who often acts as a tough testing expert in the background) and founder Julian Zabala, he built a platform in 2026 that is different: honest, direct and with a clear focus on quality rather than quantity.
We talked to him about why "security is the new sexy" – and why Lisa is our Bondage sets recommends.

From frustration to mission: Who is behind Sex Geek?

Lorenz Engel: Thomas, honestly: Does the world really need another sex blog?

Thomas Stein: Laughs. A bad one? No. An honest one? Absolutely.
The idea for Sex-Geek came out of pure frustration. A few years ago, Lisa and I wanted to buy new sex toys and only found fake reviews. Everything was "great," everything was a "test winner." That's bullshit.
We wanted to build a site that feels like asking your best friend for help. Someone who would also tell you: "Leave it alone, it's stuck."

Lorenz Engel: You cover everything – from toy reviews and VR porn to BDSM guides. What's your specialty?

Thomas Stein: Clearly the interface between technology and the body. I'm a geek. I love it when things work. When a VR headset truly creates immersion, or when a bondage lock... click It does and is secure. That fascinates me.
Lisa often tests the emotional side: How does the material feel? Is it really comfortable? We complement each other perfectly in that regard. If it's no good, we write that down too.

Why quality saves lives (or at least the evening)

Lorenz Engel: You have chosen our magnetic system and the Cotton restraints I took a closer look. What's your conclusion?

Thomas Stein: That you're finally solving a problem that drives me crazy as a "security fanatic".
In our BDSM beginner's guide, I always preach: The material determines pleasure or frustration.
Looking at your concept (magnetic lock principle, cotton), I immediately see the difference to cheap stuff: Nobody wants to fumble around for a key during lovemaking. The magnetic lock is intuitive and secure. And the cotton ensures that Lisa doesn't look like she's been cuddling with stinging nettles the next day.
For me, that's the difference between "toys" and professional "BDSM“.

A look into the future: What will 2026 bring?

Lorenz Engel: Where is the journey with Sex Geek headed?

Thomas Stein: We want to become the number one point of contact in the DACH region for everyone who wants to live a modern sexuality.
We are placing a huge focus on AI tools – a super exciting topic right now – and looking at how technology, from VR to app control, is changing our relationships.
And of course, we continue to look for partners like you who understand that quality is also important in bed.

Lorenz Engel: Thanks for the insight, Thomas!
